WorkCover – A constant battle!

WorkCover (Workers’ Compensation) was introduced to act as a form of insurance providing wage replacement and medical benifits to employees employees injured during the course of employment.

However, with the laws and policies supporting Workcover changed to reduce fraud; it has passed on a lot of power to the insurance companies who have been misusing this power and have been making life a living hell even for people who have been seriously injured.

Even though WorkCover was initially formed to help injured workers get proper treatment and to help then return to work, the return to work policies and procedures adopted by the WorkCover Authorities have allowed the insurance agents to bully and harass injured workers. WorkCover authorities and the government are aware of this but seem to have shut their eyes towards this major issue.

The “Return to Work” policies and procedures designed by the work cover authorities, under which these insurance agents  are paid massive incentives to get injured workers back to work,  are indirectly responsible for the mistreatment of the injured workers by their employers and insurance agents.

The insurance agents are known to delay and suspend treatment without any substantial backing for their decision and the injured workers are then left to fight the decision following a lengthy and frustrating legal process.
